Membership at BevCam
BevCam membership is about access, participation, and support. Members join because they want to create media, learn new skills, or help sustain community access to local storytelling and civic information.
Some members come with a project in mind. Others join to support BevCam’s mission and make sure community media continues to exist in Beverly. Membership connects people to resources, staff, and a growing network of local creators.
Why Membership Matters
BevCam is the only nonprofit organization in Beverly focused specifically on media access, free expression, and digital equity. Membership helps keep equipment available, programs running, and community voices visible.
Member participation also helps guide BevCam’s direction. Feedback from members informs programming choices, events, and areas of focus within the community.
What Members Gain
Creating Content as a Member
Many people join BevCam because they want to make their own content. Membership makes that possible by providing access to equipment, facilities, and guidance.
Some members start with a single idea. Others develop ongoing programs. Member-produced content helps keep BevCam’s channels relevant and reflective of the community.
Learning, Support, and Confidence
Members have access to staff support throughout their projects. This includes help with equipment, production questions, and skill development.
For many members, BevCam becomes a place to learn, practice, and build confidence. That experience can lead to new creative projects, stronger technical skills, and a sense of belonging within a supportive environment.
Membership Stories
BevCam membership has supported a wide range of meaningful work.
Beverly High teacher Anthony Davis started a show to interview students about the people who shaped their lives. That project grew beyond its original scope and developed into a standalone program with a dedicated audience.
A producer-member shared that working on their show gave them a sense of purpose during a difficult period in their life. Experiences like this have left a lasting impression on BevCam staff.
Volunteer Mikey Lugo Jr. has often let people in the BevCam community how his time at BevCam helped build confidence and provided early work experience in media production.
BevCam continues to collect and share member stories, including interviews with new producers, as part of ongoing community outreach.
